The Apple TV on the other hand is designed to output to a 16:9 widescreen HDTV. Widescreen videos on the iPod or TV output will either be shown letterboxed or cropped, depending on the “Widescreen” setting on the iPod itself. The 5G iPod has a screen that is a 4:3 aspect ratio (320 x 240) and will also only output to a TV in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
